Web Accessibility Statement

The Department of Social and Family Affairs follows guidelines on accessibility set out by the W3C (the World Wide Web Consortium). The W3C WAI (Web Accessibility Initiative) produces accessibility guidelines that are an internationally recognised benchmark of accessibility.

In designing this site, we have applied all appropriate WAI Priority 1 and Priority 2 criteria of the WAI's web content accessibility guidelines.

This website is also optimised for printing as well as handheld devices. Simply print the page using your browsers PRINT option and the page will print out to fit the width of the paper.

Current technologies

  • The website uses W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) technologies, wherever possible
  • Pages validate as XHTML 1.0 Transitional and CSS2, ensuring that they work with a wide variety of browsers
