This website has been established by the Department of Social and Family Affairs to provide information on the Irish Government's Green Paper on Pensions. The Green Paper set out the position in relation to social welfare , occupational, personal and public service pensions and posed questions for consideration. An extensive consultation process followed publication of the Green Paper the report of which is available here.
Government reform proposals and future policy in relation to pensions is set out in the National Pensions Framework which it published on 3 March 2010. The Framework outlines reforms to State, private and public service pension provision. It will address the role of the employee, employer and State in providing for pensions as well as future retirement age.
